What are small facts about psychology that can be learnt quick to apply in real life?

  1. You can get a lot of information out of someone by just being silent. I believe Doctors sometimes use this to make people get into detail about their problems.
  2. If you get into an argument and really want to piss off the other person just ask them to calm down.
  3. Count Down - “I will clean up my room in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1” is simplest way to nuke procrastination.
  4. Act like you're confident and people will believe you are.
  5. How to talk to any stranger confidently? Assume familiarity.
  6. When asking a kid to do something and they say "no," then you say "I'll time you" and they go running as fast as they can to do the task you asked them to.
  7. The tone of your voice reveals how you feel about what you are saying. This is easily manipulated. Practice saying the same exact words in different emotional states and for various affects and you can easily fake confidence, superiority, vulnerability, confusion, etc.
  8. If you want to know who's watching/checking you out. Check your watch then look surprised. Anyone watching you will most likely be checking their watch to see why you were surprised by the time.
  9. Whenever you want someone to cooperate, agree with you or want them to calm down when angry, stand in a 45° angle to them or next to them.
ENJOY!
