What are the hardest and most useful skills to learn?

The hardest skills and the right skills are always the same.
Here are 7-skills that are hard to master but pay off big time.
  1. Sleep schedule: People know the value of quality sleep but never develop a consistent sleep schedule.
  2. Listening: We know how to talk endlessly but we don’t know how to listen mindfully. It’s being mindful of yourself and the person.
  3. Mastering thoughts: People are on all-time blame mode. It takes work to think positively, take responsibility, and change your situation.
  4. Being vulnerable: People never experience full emotional vulnerability with their family or friends. It leads to an inability to vent pent-up emotions.
  5. Delayed gratification: Being consistent with habits over the long-term, whether it’s exercise, studying, or business. People want a quick-fix and can’t be patient for results.
  6. Awareness: Meditation teaches us how to live in the present moment. To see every thought and feeling as they arise. It took me a year of meditation to reach this stage.
  7. Wonder: It’s a shame that we lose our child-like wonder and excitement when we grow up. We confuse being boring as maturity. It’s worth it to get that curiosity and passion back.
